1st Prize Daily Life Stories
Summer is not over yet, but I'm already in the autumn mood.
In the summertime the big city is deserted and quiet, because most people are on vacation. But when september comes, the city comes alive again. The thing I like most of this time of the year is that there are many events, concerts, exhibitions... Fashion Week, Design Week etc. But the event that stands on the top of my list is the WORLD PRESS PHOTO Exhibition.
Every year since 1955 an international jury has convened in Holland to choose the finest and the most influential press photographs of the year. The winning images set off a world tour, which allows millions of people in 45 countries to see the highlights of the year, sealed by press photographs. The pictures are divided into categories: news, nature, portraits, arts and entertainment, sports and daily life.
The photographs can be found on the official site of WORLD PRESS PHOTO but I prefer to visit the exhibition, because then you can understand and feel better the stories behind these breathtaking photographs.
